Calling all lifters!
The State of Origin format is here. This event is being held at hubs around Australia on Saturday August 10th. A reminder that State of Origin is a requirement for Australian Team Selection, and the last chance to add scores to your Lifter of the Year tally.
In its second year, the State of Origin will require each state to communicate and coordinate amongst themselves, to ensure the highest score (Pidgon Points) is achieved across all seven lifts available in Lifter of the Year in x2 formats.
How it works:
Part 1: Traditional Lifts
– Each state can submit six (6) 10 minute lifts to their score
– These lifts include, Half Snatch, One Arm Jerk, One Arm Long Cycle, Snatch, Jerk, Double Half Snatch
– This must be a combination of x3 Female/x3 Male
– States that cannot field x3 Female/x3 Male may have athletes complete a maximum of x2 lifts to the score
– If teams cannot complete x6 lifts, that state will forfeit the remaining lifts (Reminder, an athlete may submit a max of x2 lifts to the score)
– Scores will be calculated with Pigdon Points to demonstrate a coefficient
Part 2: Mixed Relay
– The seventh event is a Long Cycle Relay (TALC)
– The relay must be a combination of x3 Females/x3 Males
– States that cannot field x3 Female/x3 Males may have athletes lift on multiple occasions, e.g., back to back. However, this exception will only be made based on state registrations
– The format will be 6x3minute efforts of ascending weights (10kg,12kg,16kg,20kg,24kg,28kg)
– Scores will be derived from Pigdon Points to demonstrate a coefficient
– Females can use 10kg,12kg,16kg,20kg
– Males can use 16kg, 20kg, 24kg, 28kg
– Hence, there is a crossover whereby a male could use a 16kg and a female a 20kg
– There will be a cap of Reps Per Minute to ensure correct technique occurs (Marking the Rack/Fixation), this will be x13RPM
Get your team ready.
Note: All lifts are still available for registration at State of Origin. No video submissions will be available for this event.
