Wow, just wow!!! This kettlebell expo went from being just a friendly competition with a few goodmates. To attracting athletes from all around the globe! What an honor to host everyone here in the gym at Kettlebell Central. We were pleased to host two Russian athletes, Dhzoni & Nikolai, and two of their coaches, Arkadii & Sergey. Putting on a fantastic display of athleticism on competition day. As well as coaching everyone through the kettlebell sport lifts on the Sunday. Our journey started at Rockhard in Bendigo's winter and culminated in Sonderborg (Denmark) and we are still in winter. Today the result of all our hard work came to fruition. Results are finally in for the Australian Kettlebell marathon team. Just been notified that our Australian team came in 5th overall out of 12 countries. "wow" how this sport continues to grow in Australia. The inspiring event was held at The Richmond Gym funnily enough also in Richmond, Melbourne. Hosted by James Ross and his team, they managed to pull off a very smooth running event, with every competitor getting recognised, including new Australian champions being crowned, a few Master of Sports achieved and a new team Australia to be announced for the 2016 IUKL World Championships. This is the IUKL World Championship Team Australia qualification event to compete at the 2016 IUKL World Championship. Kazakhstan will host the IUKL world Championship this year in October 26th – 30th (see http://giri-iukl.com/Eng/calendar_rus.html). IUKL Team Australia will be formed after the GSAA Nationals. In Australia you have to qualify at this event to become a Team Australia member at the IUKL World Championship. The competition is open to Australians and international athletes. Great day had by everyone. Thank you for the support and friendship. Having kettlebell competitions doesn't always have to be about pb's or records (there were some very impressive results though). Today we came together and lifted to help one of our own Natalia Rudneva. I would like to thank Roger Ruzzier and his crew from Toughlove Kettlebells and Sue Parry, awesome effort mate!..and Shannon Pigdon and his crew from Lonedog (Bootcamps, Group Training & Personal Training) mate much appreciate the effort from you and your girls.
